Faculty

The best teachers teach from the heart, not from the book. Our teachers bring a unique blend of dedication and experience which is then actively applied through the Montessori method of education.

Our Team

Explorers

(1-2 years)

Fostering the development of basic trust.
  • Basic language, vocabulary development, understanding simple instructions, art and craft, music and movement, toilet-training and outdoor play are all part of the daily routine for our Explorers.
  • Independence and order are encouraged

Our Explorers grow and learn in a nurturing environment filled with fascinating and beautiful materials specially sized for their smaller hands that entice their natural desire to explore, while promoting their curiosity. The teachers gently guide the children through each successive level of development and achievement, always encouraging and supporting them.

Adventurers

(2-2.5 years)

  • Independence and order are encouraged.
  • Self-confidence is enhanced through innovative learning experiences.
  • Supporting their emerging sense of self as a unique person.
  • Preliminary Montessori activities are introduced.
  • Preliminary Montessori activities and basic EPL are introduced.

Our Adventurers learn under the watchful eyes of our caring teachers, whether they are practicing how to pour water from a jug, singing the alphabet song or learning to walk on a line. The Adventurers have the opportunity to interact and develop communication skills and confidence with a small group of peers. They have access to a variety of large muscle activities that offers them opportunities to jump, climb, balance, crawl or skip.

Discoverers

(2.5-3 years)

Our aim… is not merely to make the child understand, and still less to force him to memorize but to touch his imagination so as to enthuse him to his inner most core.
  • Children are introduced to age appropriate Montessori materials.
  • They are invited to make choices from a variety of activities designed to support their growth and needs.
  • Focus on development of children’s cognitive, social and language skills.

For our Discoverers the TLC Curriculum is holistic and not rigidly separated into subject areas. As we attend to each child’s full development, we value social, emotional and moral learning highly. Experiences supporting this development are integrated with a strong academic and physical education to produce well rounded individuals. Age appropriate Practical Life, Sensorial, Language and Math are introduced which provides a basic framework of our TLC Curriculum.

Enquirers

(3-3.5 years)

Education should no longer be mostly imparting knowledge, but must take a new path, seeking the release of human potential. - Maria Montessori
  • Children are each engaged in Montessori activities either alone or in small groups.
  • The classroom is lively and learning is self-directed.

Children explore and discover the world around them through the use of intriguing Montessori materials that stimulates their five senses and intellect. Our Unit’s of Inquiry inspires the Enquirers to develop a sense of curiosity, developing his/her own spiral to greater understanding. Our Montessori Certified teachers guide each child to make independent choices and explore the world of reading, writing and mathematics.

Rangers I

  • Emphasis on Mathematics, Language and Grammar.
  • Introduction to Montessori cultural studies and environmental awareness.

Our Rangers program offers a consolidated curriculum keeping in mind the inner development of the child. The environment continues to be carefully planned and thoughtfully designed to offer children the enriching experience of uninterrupted learning and self-development. The teachers make appropriate changes to the environment to support each child’s growth and learning.

Our young Rangers can now group alphabets to construct words, read and write. Children work independently with the Math material and understand all the four operations concretely and clearly. Scientific and geographical concepts are further enhanced and inculcated in children through a hands on approach.

Scholars

(5-year-old)

The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically…intelligence plus character – that is the goal of a true education – Martin Luther King Jr.
  • Focuses on getting ready for Class 1 in a traditional classroom.
  • Providing a learning environment in which all the children can be happy, contented and safe.
  • They are motivated and able to flourish and achieve their full potential as well as feel a sense of fulfillment.
  • Emphasis on reading, writing and numerical operations.
  • Completion of science and geography modules.

As children graduate to Scholars, ready for admission into one of the prestigious schools in Bangalore, we give them the experience of a traditional classroom replete with blackboards, tables and chairs. Basic rules of grammar, mathematic operations upto 500, introduction to early Physics, Botany and Zoology, Political and Physical Geographical concepts are introduced.

Our students work both independently and cooperatively in questioning, researching, discovering, and explaining increasingly challenging concepts of the physical world. The experienced teachers at TLC guide them in their study as well as encourage a discussion about global issues like the environment and safety. The foundations set by repeated experiences with concrete materials in the earlier years have now made our Scholars ready to move towards abstract concepts.

Daycare

(1.5 – 12 Years)

  • Emphasis on all round development, safety and well being of the children.
  • Unique and consolidated day care curriculum.
  • Flexibility in timings.

Our Extended Day program is very flexible to suit every need. We have options that allow children to stay for as little as a couple of hours to the whole day. Extended care, allows children to work individually and in groups on deeper investigations in language, mathematics, science, geography, and history. During the Extended Day year, children have greater opportunities to practice tasks that require stamina, concentration, and cognitive as well as physical skills. Older children, who opt for our After School Care are helped with their homework and any other school work that needs attention. Our children grow socially as they develop grace and courtesy through practicing lunch formalities and caring for their environment.
